First, let’s look into the eyes of a tyrannical and insidious dictator of over 40 years of brutality on his people.

This is not a pretty picture.
But, it is real! Now imagine if you can, being subservient to a person so bizarre and deranged controlling your government, your nation, your life, and your family for 40 years? This is/was the plight of the people of Libya until they like Egypt, came to a point in time when they could no longer endure the brutality and human degradation being perpetrated upon them by this mad man. They are willing to die in a brave and heroic effort to take back & save their country by over throwing the Gadhafi Regime.

Friday, 03/18/11, the United Nations Security Council voted to confirm resolution 1973 to authorize a no-fly zone and subsequent air strikes via air craft, Tomahawk cruise missiles from U.S. & British war ships and submarines off the coast of Libya to counteract the continued attacks on civilians by Gadhafi forces even after he agreed to a cease fire that was only a smoke screen and thus never materialized.

President Obama spearheaded the U.N. movement and enlisted the combined efforts of The United Kingdom, France, Norway, Italy and others so that the United States was not the lone wolf… and as such created a uni-lateral undertaking and humanitarian effort supported and enter into with the military clout of our allied Nations. This under continued criticism from House Speaker (R) John Boehner and the Ole’ last but never least voice of (R) Senator John McCain.

The Nite Ranter commends the president for his action as he did not take us into another George W. Bush administration “gut check – knee jerk reaction” that we are still enduring in Iraq & Afghanistan almost four (4) years after “W” went skedaddling back to his home on the range in Texas!

The President is “damned” if he does and ‘damned” if he doesn’t…and the party of “NO” wants to keep it that way. They have done nothing constructive. They have presented no constructive plan to improve jobs, the economy, the deficit, or regulations for Wall Street, Banking and the wealthy. So far their big venture is to de-fund & kill (NPR) National Public Radio.

Gridlock, gridlock and more gridlock are in our future in Washington. But, I digress…now back to Libya.

Do you have any thoughts as to what we should or should not be doing in Libya to help the people of this Nation come out of this terrible situation and begin to function as a stable and productive free world society?

Now I’m a little concerned about our helping hand involvement in the Libyan crisis!

If this dirt bag “Gadhafi” and his regime are not repelled and “Taken Out” the U.S. will be left with a gigantic black eye.
    He must be taken out!

Ranter, give “Scatman” a break…as a Republican, he is probably mentally challenged in some way and he is trying to break out of his mold and try his wings…so be gentle with him.!?

He probably believes there is a pot of “GOLD” at the end of the rainbow, too!

Let’s hope there is hope for him…hey he reads your blog…so at least he ain’t stupid, ok?
    Keep up your good work!

You’re correct in your reprimand of The Nite Ranter. I need to tone down my rhetoric on occasion.

Points well taken and heeded by yours truly! My condolences to Scatman if I offended him. It’s the equal opportunity offender in me coming out again…but, as I always say: “It’s My Bag!”

Hey there Scatman! Thanks for your comment and (believe it or not) I have a lot of Republican friends!
My question to them and to you is: “When are you guys going to go to work and help in some meaningful way towards solving our Nations real problems that your former Republican Party Loyal created and in most cases authored?”
To date you guys are sitting on your hands and of course playing lots of Golf!

Let me hear from you again sometime.

Thank you Nite Ranter for this very informative look at the situation in Libya.

I also think that Obama handled this one well and I (believe it or not) am a Republican.

    Now dig that!
