Congress, once again, is sleeping on another important issue – a BIG one this time – the extension of life-saving health care coverage for 911 responders!

Congress has dragged their slovenly, overpaid, overindulged and unbelievably obstinate feet regarding this important human issue.

It’s an American issue. It’s our people. It’s unconscionably unbelievable as to why the delay for life-saving coverage of health care by our Congress to save the lives of our firefighters, police officers, port of N.Y. workers, ambulance responders and all important people who risked their personal lives & health in the immediate and clean-up aftermath of 911.

It is a worldwide disgrace on our Nation’s history. There should be an outrage by our people Nationwide.

Question: “Where is the TEA Party when an important issue like this is just languishing around the bureaucratic halls in Washington?”

They almost trample each other buying expensive seats to slobber over “Queen Palin” while important issues never make their foggy radar screen. Interesting…

With that said, please watch a clip from Jon Stewart’s video below. Jon Stewart broached the “First Responder” situation on The Daily Show and, as is so often the case,  stated the case as only Jon could state it.

Hey Jeff: Thanks for your comments. I agree… there are in most cases two sides to some stories. But, Political persuasion should not play the leading role in a decision to provide health care benefits to “911 First Responders.”

The GOP held out in this regard until the eleventh hour and caved just enough for passage for LESS monetary benefit for the responders. It’s a case in the end that some $$$ for benefits is better than none!

Political in-fighting, party-line wheeling and dealing Washington style!

Ranter, the notion of preventing the 9/11 responers from getting additional medical care through the government is a Republican proposal in an attempt to pare down the government debt. This proposal is also supported by members of the Tea Pary, as well as Blue Dog Democrats who want fiscal austerity to reduce the national debt. What hypocracy! The Republicans coerced the congress into approving Bush’s tax cut for another two years. As you are aware the tax bill gives the wealthy additional time to benefit from the tax measure–that increases our debt by about 750 billion dollars. In addition the wealthy are going to be able to transfer to their realtives, tax free, up to 5 million dollars or a total of 10 million if married. Think of all the tax money that does not go to reducing the federal deficit.

It is my impression that most of our Republican politicians look out for themselves and the large corporations that feed them. The issue about the medical needs of the first responders is only a symptom of a diseased nation. We are becoming very close for a revolt by the common folks and it’s not going to be pretty.

Satafean: Your note as to an upheaval by us, the common folks, is a scary but very astute perception of where many of our countrymen stand on the workings of our elected elite and especially the House and the Senate.

Yes, if this situation persists and an upheaval occurs it will surely not be a pretty picture.

Thanks for you comment, as usual.

CNN is reporting that two Democratic Senators are spear heading a new bill with different sources of funding to provide help for The First Responders of 911. Supposedly by this Friday, 12/24/10.

I hope it happens. We shall see!

I just saw video comments from state governors on “6O Minutes” stating that it’s cut, cut, cut for state and local governments. Funny thing is…you never hear about the big wigs in the House & Senate cutting their pay, premiere health plan(s) and their golden life term salaries that continue until their deaths…even after they are voted out of office their salary continues… did you hear me???…until their death!!!???

Who gets a lifestyle like that in today’s world? Answer: “No one else, just them. They’re “Special!” What a bunch of bureaucratic crap.

They belong to a self-created “Elitist Governing Group” in our Country.
Question: “Who voted for and approved their special status plan.” Well, that answer is simple, they did…as they make and approve all the laws governing themselves. Sick!!!

They are extremely over-paid, greedy and need their pay cut to the bone!!!! It is a sickening but true fact.
Our tax dollars should be spent better and I am appalled and livid beyond belief.
PS: They do not work on Friday’s and have every Holiday off.

The Hose Works 123 days a year.
The Senate Works 151 days a year.

How do you feel? Do you like this? Let me know, please!
